SMIT 2021 Application Fees

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology ( SMIT ) Engineering Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria-2015

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology has announced Admission to the various UG Engineering courses including lateral entry.

Admissions are based on the JEE ( Main ) All India Score or All India Examination conducted by Manipal University ( MU-OET ) or SMIT offline test conducted by  Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.

For Regular B.Tech Courses:

Candidates   must   have   passed   ( 10+2 )   or equivalent   with Physics &   Mathematics   as compulsory subjects and Chemistry or Computer Sciences or Biotechnology or Biology, as one of the optional subjects.

They must have secured a minimum of 50% ( 45% for SC / ST / OBC ) marks in aggregate in these subjects to be considered for selection.

Candidate with a diploma in the appropriate branch of engineering awarded by a State Board of Technical Education, and with at least 50% ( 45% for SC / ST / OBC ) in aggregate in diploma is also eligible for admission to the first year of B.Tech.

Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply. However, their results should be sent to SMIT by fax as soon as the result is declared.  Course applied for must be clearly mentioned.

For Lateral Entry B.Tech Courses:

Candidates can apply for the direct entry to second year of Bachelor of Technology program after fulfilling the following criteria

Three years diploma in appropriate branch of engineering with minimum 60% ( 55% for SC / ST / OBC candidates ) marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates with the diploma in the same branch of engineering.

Three years' BSc degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects, with minimum 60% ( 55% for SC / ST / OBC candidates ) marks in aggregate.
