Army Institute of Law ( AIL ) Entrance Examination

Army Institute of Law ( AIL ) was established in July 1999 under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society ( AWES ). Its interim campus at Patiala was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. H B Kala, PVSM, AVSM, SC, the then GOC-in-C HQ Western Command, on 15 July 1999. It shifted to its permanent location at Sector-68, Mohali on 21 July 2003. AIL's Mohali campus was inaugurated by HE Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, President of India, on 01 Dec 2003. The Institute runs B.A.,LL.B. 5-year degree course in law, primarily for the wards of servicemen and ex-servicemen of Army. 20 percent of the total number of seats is available to wards of civilians. Out of this, 15 percent are reserved for residents of Punjab and 5 percent for that resident in the rest of India. The Institute is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala and approved by the Bar Council of India.

Army Institute of Law ( AIL ), Mohali affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala  will be conducting the entrance exam for those candidates who wish to take admission in B.A. LLB 5 Year Course in the university for the academic session 2015-16. Scholarships For Army institute of Law ( AIL ) B.A. LL.B. Course :

Tata Memorial Scholarship:

Cash prize of Rs. 20,000 and 15,000 only for the wards of Army Personnel for standing first and second in the first four years respectively.

AGIF Scholarship:

AGIF Scholarships amounting to Rs 40,000/- are given by AG Branch to the Wards of Army Personnel based on their merit.

Abhimanyu Scholarship:

Instituted by Col. PRS Chaudhary in memory of Late Mr. Abhimanyu Raj Singh Chaudhary. Following are the scholarships:

  1. To be awarded every year to a child of JCO/OR who tops in the Law Entrance Test.
  2. To be awarded to a student who scores the highest marks in the first three years of the 5 year integrated Law course. In case of a tie between two or more students securing the same marks, the scholarship amount will be divided equally.

Angad Singh Dhindsa Scholarship:

Instituted by Sh. Jagdeep Singh in memory of his son Late Mr. Angad Singh Dhindsa. The following are the scholarships:-

  1. 50% of the interest earned annually on the sum of Rs. 2,00,000/- to be awarded to a girl student who scores the highest marks in the first 3 years of the BALLB 5 year course.
  2. Balance 50% of the interest earned annually to be awarded to the Best Mooter in the National Moot Court Competition held annually.
