The Sikkim Manipal University was established in 1995. It is the first government-private initiative in the region. SMU is recognized by the University Grants Commission and approved by the Government of India. It is the first ever Public Private Partnership ( PPP ) in the country for higher Education and Health Care services. Various institutions are running under Sikkim Manipal University. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences offers MCI recognized MBBS course as per curriculum prescribed by the Medical Council of India ( MCI ). Other PG courses MD / MS are also offered. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences has announced admission for various UG and PG Medical courses. Admissions are based on the UGET1 online entrance examination and merit list of entrance examination conducted by SMIMS. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences ( SMIMS ) Medical Entrance Examination Eligibility Criteria-2015

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences has announced admission for various Medical courses. Admissions are based on the UGET1 online entrance examination and merit list of entrance examination conducted by SMIMS.

For MBBS:

Candidate must have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology for General Caste & 40 % for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC.

In addition candidate must have secured 50 % marks for General Caste & 40 % for candidates belonging to SC, ST& OBC in the entrance test conducted by Sikkim Manipal University.

For MD / MS:

Candidate must have passed MBBS & completed one year internship training. In addition candidate must have secured 50 % marks for General Caste & 40 % for candidates belonging to SC, ST& OBC in the entrance test conducted by Sikkim Manipal University with internship completion by 31st March 2015

For Integrated M.Sc Medical Biotech / B.Sc ( Nursing ) / BPT:

10+2 / equivalent with 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English

For BMLT / Post B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Medical / MPT / Masters in Hospital Admin:

10+2 / equivalent with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology / Mathematics

GNM,

B.Sc in Life Sciences / appropriate subject with 55% marks ( 50% for ST, SC and OBC )

Bachelor in any discipline with 50% marks

BPT with 50% marks
