Tripura Medical College Entrance Exam ( TMCEE ) Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination Selection Procedure  – 2015

For MD / MS Course:

There shall be one common written Entrance Test for both categories of candidates under State Govt. quota and Society Open quota for maintaining same standard of quality of the candidates seeking admission to the P.G. Degree courses ( MD / MS ) of Tripura Medical College.

The said written Entrance Test will be conducted for the eligible candidates under supervision of the Permanent Admission Committee headed by the Hon’ble High Court Justice ( Retired ). On the basis of Entrance Test ( written exam ) result one common merit list shall be prepared.

The common merit list prepared as per decision above shall then be split into two:-

(a) Merit list of candidates who opted for State Govt. quota.

(b) Merit list of candidates who opted for Open category ( Society ) quota.

As regards eligibility criteria, the MCI guideline provides that 50% marks in the Entrance Test for the Post Graduate Degree Courses shall have to be obtained by a candidate.

However, in respect of the candidates belong to the ST / SC category, the minimum percentage of marks shall be 40%. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the Entrance Examination, their merit will be determined in order of preference as under:

i. Candidates obtaining higher aggregate marks in all the MBBS Professional Examinations.

ii. According to age, the older one getting preference over the younger one.

Selection will be made entirely on the basis of merit in order of the candidates.

The State Govt. will nominate the candidates as per their own guided policy. The Society shall fill up their seats from the candidates as Open category.

After 2nd Counselling, if any vacancy remains for admission in any discipline, it would be filled up from the All India Examination-qualified candidates on merit who apply within the cut-off date.

The State Government Reservation Policy will be followed in respect of all admissions.
