International Mathematical Olympiad ( IMO ) Entrance Examination

The Science Olympiad Foundation, ( SOF ) is an educational foundation and a non-profit organization, based at New Delhi ( India ), which promotes Science, Mathematics in India and other places like Singapore, Oman, Qatar, Nepal, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, U.A.E. and Durban. Every year, it organizes Olympiads in each of these places, namely the International Mathematics Olympiad ( IMO ) .In the IMO( International Mathematics Olympiad) is a means to identify and encourage the mathematical creativity of children in schools across India and abroad. The students from classes 1 - 12 are eligible for appearing in it. The format of both levels is the same. International Mathematics Olympiad ( IMO ) Entrance Examination Awards Details

During the academic year 2013-14, over 27000 schools from more than 1350 cities registered and millions of students appeared for the four Olympiad exams. These Olympiads were conducted across 16 countries.

For the academic year 2014-15, SOF will spend over Rs. Ten Crores on awards, Scholarships, gifts & felicitations etc.

The following awards will be provided to the winners of Olympiads being held during the academic year 2014-15.

Top ten rank holders from each class & each Olympiad exam will be awarded Gold medals & Merit certificate. This will be applicable for winners from 20 Zones/States for performance in the 1^st level Olympiads.

All students scoring 100% marks in the 2^nd level exams of NCO, NSO & IMO ( 1^st level exam in IEO) will win special awards consisting of Gifts worth Rs.1000/ and Merit Certificates.

School Awards for Students.

Participation Certificate to every student.

Certificate of merit to all 2nd level qualifiers.

Where 10 or more students from one class write an exam - *gold, silver and bronze medals to top 3 rank holders.

Where between 5 to 9 students from a class write an exam -* gold medal to the top rank holder.

Student Performance Report ( SPR ) for each participating student.

For exams with only one level, one rank for one student will be assigned.

For exams with two levels

In the first level, one rank may have more than one student, however in the 2nd level, one rank will have one student only.

*Medals are plated Gold / Silver / Bronze as applicable
