Infrastructure is the support system on which depends the efficient working of a modern industrial economy. Modern agriculture also largely depends on it for speedy and large-scale transport of seeds, pesticides, fertilisers, and the product using modern roadways, railways and shipping facilities. It has also to operate on a very large scale.

Private sector in India has grown independently without any major regulation. Since the 1990s, owing to the 'liberalisation' measures many RI's and industrial companies have set up 'State-of-the-Art' super specialty hospitals to attract India's rich and medical tourists.
