Devarajan Arasu Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship 2020 was started in 2015-16 to promote higher learning for the learners who comes under Backward Classes and scored more than 90% marks in the SSLC exam. Candidates who qualify this scholarship gets up to Rs. 25, 000/- per year, reward, so that they can continue with their further education.

Eligibility/Qualifications

Applicants should be Permanent resident of Karnataka.
Applicants should be fall under the categories list of Backward Classes released by the government of Karnataka.
Applicants should be pursuing education from lawful universities / subordinate / government / local bodies / subsidiaries / recognized non-subsidized private institutions.
The overall family Income should not be more than INR 2.50 lakh.

Other informations 
The Government of Karnataka created a separate “Backward Classes and Minority Department” for the welfare of the backward classes, minorities in the state in 1977 and provided for the provision of educational reservation under Article 15 (4) of the Constitution of India and 16 (4). In 1999-2000, the Minority Welfare Department had a separate Directorate, separate from the Backward Classes Welfare Department.
