Ladli Yojna
Ladli Yojna is a scholarship scheme started by the Government of NCT of Delhi on 1st January 2008. With this scheme, the Delhi Government intends to empower a girl child by improving their social status and self-reliance by proper education, economic safety and security against discrimination and divestment. The girls born in the last 1 year can avail of the benefits of the Delhi Ladli Scheme. The girl child born before this period can also be the beneficiaries of financial support under the Delhi Ladli Scheme if they are registered in class 1, 6, 9 or class 12 of a government-aided school.
The key objectives of the Ladli Yojna Scheme are:
To grant the girl child socially and economically.
To improve birth registration of girl child.
To control female foeticide and to improve sex ratio.
To end discrimination against the girl child.
To improve education among the girls and reduce the school drop-out rate of girl students.
To implement security to girl students for their higher education
The key objectives of the Ladli Yojna Scheme are:

Eligibility/Qualifications
In order to get the benefits of Ladli Yojna, the candidates must fulfill specific eligibility requirements. One of the most important conditions is that the candidate must be a citizen of Delhi. Find here the list of complete information about the eligibility criteria of Ladli Yojna.
Applicable only for a girl child
A girl should be born in Delhi as per the birth certificate issued by the Registrar (Births and Deaths), MCD/NDMC.
The candidate must be a bonafide citizen of the National Capital Territory of Delhi for at least three years preceding the date of birth of the girl child.
Annual family income should not be more than Rs.1 lac.
If a girl is a school going, her school must be recognized by the Delhi Govt/MCD/NDMC.
The benefit of the scheme is restricted to two surviving girls per family.
Applicable only for a girl child

How to Apply
The applications for Ladli Yojna are received through offline mode, i.e., the filled applications have to be submitted at the respective department. Given here is the detailed guideline on how to apply for the Delhi Ladli Scheme.
The application form can either be downloaded from the official website of the Department of Women and Child Development for Delhi Ladli Scheme or collected from the District Officer of the concerned authorities which include the Department of Social Welfare/WCD, Government of Delhi/State Bank of India/Government recognized schools.
The candidate has to fill all the necessary details in the form.
Now, they need to attach all the necessary documents with the filled-in application form.
Finally, submit the form to the concerned District Officer.
Note: If a girl is a school-going, then the filled application form must be submitted within 90 days of her admission in school. And in the case of a newly-born child, the application must be submitted within the year of birth.

Scholarship Benefits

Other Informations
The prescribed application forms can be obtained from the respective District Women and Child Development Officer, WCD, Govt. of Delhi / Govt. Recognized Schools and submitted to the concerned District Office, in case of the school-going girl within 90 days of admission of the girl and in case of newly born girls within a year of the birth.
Financial arrangements for the implementation of this scheme have been made with SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. and with the State Bank of India.
The amount is sanctioned in the name of the girl child and is deposited with SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (SBIL) which manages the amount till the girl attains the age of 18 years and passes Class-X or takes admission in Class-XII since on attaining the milestone the girl child can claim the maturity amount.
This scheme envisages periodic payments by the Govt. in the name of the girl child, it would be kept as a fixed deposit in her name and redeemed along with accrued interest when the child reaches 18 years of age and has passed the Xth / XIIth class as a regular student.
The girls registered under the scheme shall file maturity claim after passing 10th standard if they are 18 yrs old or have passed 12th standard.
Students are required to submit an application along with the acknowledgment letter received from SBIL; residential address; mark sheet of 10th or 12th (whichever is applicable); a copy of the Bank Passbook showing the account number; mobile/landline number.
Beneficiary girls are required to open a Zero Balance Saving Account with the State Bank of India by showing the acknowledgment letter received from the bank.
Prior to this stage, money is transferred to the Unique ID number of the beneficiary girl child, allotted by the State Bank of India.
